Hand-pies, Empanadas, Calzones, Samosas
I had forgotten how magical Rhodes Bake and Serve rolls are. They can be thawed, rolled out and filled with a huge variety of fillings and are loved by all. And if you brush the tops with melted butter before cooking, they become the ultimate glistening, fatty, kid (and parent) loved hand food. Perfect for busy eat and run nights, or eat in the car nights or it's a Christmas miracle that we have dinner nights.
Sloppy Joes allrecipes
For every possibility you will need to thaw the frozen rolls for 1.5-2 hours. I'm pretty sure there is a rapid method- do that. Or you can make rolls- that is also a possibility- ha;)
Roll out each ball of dough one at a time with a rolling pin. Put the filling in the middle. Bring the sides together and crimp or you can also press them together with the tines of a fork. Brush with butter and cook at 375 degrees until light brown. Maybe 14 minutes-ish but I didn't use a timer, I just checked when they started to smell done.
Pizza:
Sausage (I did hot Sausage- cook before adding), Pepperoni (have you seen the little ones:), hamburger (cooked) , Prosciutto, Canadian bacon, sliced black or green olives, pineapple, mushrooms, peppers- anything you like in pizza.
You can add grated cheese- I did once but it didn't add much to the taste but it added much to the calories soooo I quit the cheese thing. Or you can do just cheese because 4 cheese pizza is delicious!
A small squirt of pizza sauce.
When I make the pizza version, I sprinkle garlic powder and some dried parsley on top of the butter and it takes the taste up a notch.
Pizza - Sausage and Spinach version:
Cook some sausage, turn off the stove top, de-grease the sausage with paper towels and throw in some chopped fresh spinach to wilt a bit.
Mix ricotta cheese, Parmesan, grated mozzarella, garlic salt, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Fold in sausage and spinach mixture.
Italian:
Salami, Pepperoni, Ham, Cheese, peppers
Meatball:
Cooked meatballs, pizza or spaghetti sauce, provolone cheese, green peppers
Chicken Alfredo: Diced chicken, ham if desired, steamed broccoli, Alfredo sauce, parmesan.
BBQ:
A scoop of either pulled pork or pulled chicken- (chicken or pork cooked in crockpot or instapot with BBQ sauce and then shredded and mixed back into the sauce in the pot)
Sprinkle on some cheddar cheese - or not...
Maybe add a bit of BBQ sauce if the meat seems dry.
(Can do the same thing with meat mixture made of stew meat and taco sauce)
Philly Cheese Steak: Sliced steak cooked with peppers and onions, Provolone Cheese
Sloppy Joe:
A scoop of sloppy joe meat. This is the recipe I usually make
1 pound lean
ground beef 1/4
cup chopped onion
1/4 cup
chopped green bell pepper 1/2
teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon
prepared yellow mustard 3/4
cup ketchup
3 teaspoons
brown sugar salt
to taste
ground black
pepper to taste
In a medium
skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, onion, and green pepper; drain
off liquids.
Stir in the
garlic powder, mustard, ketchup, and brown sugar; mix thoroughly. Reduce heat,
and simmer for 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
Serve with
steak fries and green grapes.
Add cheese or no cheese

Taco:
Cook some hamburger or diced chicken breast in taco seasoning. Can also throw in some rotel for heat.
Can smear some refried beans (black or pinto) on the dough before adding the meat.
Can add rice and or corn.
Cheese- cheddar, Mexican mix or Panela.
After cooked top with diced tomatoes and lettuce and sour cream and taco sauce and sliced olives and cheese and whatever else makes your heart happy.
Breakfast: Breakfast taco mixture- sausage &/or ham or bacon or chorizo and rotel and eggs, add grated cheese.
Picadillo: from skinnytaste makes delicious empanada like pies.
Ham and Cheese (swiss)
Anyone else remember how mom made hand-pies with chicken and cheese and garlic salt and we took them on a winter picnic to the park with hot chocolate
